Emotional Wellbeing Locality Forums
Overview
The Emotional Wellbeing Locality Forums provide an excellent opportunity for mental health leads from education settings and professionals from the wider mental health support system to come together, share knowledge and best practice, and raise awareness of what support there is available locally. Termly meetings take place across the North, South and East localities with two in-person meetings and one online per term. In addition to the meetings there is a termly newsletter that is collated and distributed on behalf of the Children and Young People’s Mental Health Reference Group.

Impact & Quotes
To gain current information regarding local teams and services supporting emotional wellbeing of children, young people and their families. I like that they are focused around emotional wellbeing, what's working well and what we need to improve. The forums are non-formal and allow for natural discussion and networking.
The emotional wellbeing forums allow me to have face to face discussion with other professionals and share good practise. The issue of emotional health is ever increasing and we need to have a specific time and space to discuss this and find out about all the help that is available so we can sort children and young people to the best of our ability.
There are multiple networks running across the county, such as SENCo networks, ECT networks etc. This is the only one to my knowledge that specifically focuses on mental health / wellbeing. There is currently no other Senior Mental Health Lead network.
Offers opportunities for our school staff to provide Early Help interventions which reduce the need for escalation to services, strengthening parents, embowering families.
HUGE!! The advice and learning that I have taken from the locality meetings has impacted many children and families that I work with. I have been able to offer support, sign post and reassure as a result of the meetings. Not only this, but it also allows for networking with others attending.
Sharing resources and expertise has positively impacted the provision, which has been noted by OFSTED.
